Last week I had one of the most exciting days of my life. It seems like I have been interviewed thousands of times over the last 12 years but on this day, This time, I got to be the interviewer of one of the greatest, most beloved female singer-songwriter-musicians of our time. The words I've heard most said about her by everyone I've ever mentioned her name to is "I love Alanis Morissette. I love her music. I know every word to every song." That's probably why her debut album Jagged Little Pill got nominated for nine Grammys. You may have seen Alanis recently on Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm or most recently The Voice. Alanis' smile radiates joy, peace and love. And her laugh goes on for minutes, like a long note that is always wanting to be heard.

I wanted to do something really special for my listeners of Shadow Talk on Hay House Radio and since Alanis' music is so in sync with my writing, I knew we would have the perfect conversation. What could be better than shadows and song -- two subjects I love? Even to this day, her music is very important to my work.
